Former Davidson Wildcat Stephen Curry is grabbing some more time in the spotlight as his team, the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, heads into the playoffs. In the “Inside the NBA” column this week, Sports Illustrated writer Chris Ballard argues that Curry may be “one of the pure shooters of all time.”

Stephen Curry’s 2012 homecoming Monday night was just as you might’ve scripted it: The Davidson College-turned-NBA star scored 27 points to lead his Golden State Warriors to a 104-96 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.
Curry also had seven assists and seven rebounds in the game at Time Warner Arena, before 13,169 fans – many of them faithful followers since his days at Davidson. Teammate David Lee added 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Warriors won their fourth game in a row.

Former Davidson star Stephen Curry returns to his hometown of Charlotte Monday night to lead his streaking Golden State Warriors against the Charlotte Bobcats. Curry is growing into a leadership role with the Warriors, leading the team with a 19.7-points-per-game average. He’s hit more than 20 points for the last 7 games.
Curry also leads his team in assists and steals. The Warriors are on a bit of a run, with a 13-7 overall record, including 8 wins in their last 10 starts. They’re coming off a 101-97 win Saturday in Washington, D.C. Read the full story

After a couple of years in France, it looks like former Davidson College standout Andrew Lovedale will get a chance to play professional basketball in the U.S. this season. A pair of 16-year-olds – David Hager of Davidson and Sydney Bowman of Cornelius – were the top finishers Friday night in the Summit Coffee Tacky 10K on Davidson streets and greenways. On Saturday morning, two 17-year-olds battled it out in the Andrew Lovedale 5K at Davidson College, with James Gregory outrunning Stephan Snyder by a second, in 19:02. Where did Steph Curry finish?
