Davidson College, local businesses and sports fans are getting ready for the college’s 4th annual Kicks from Cats, collecting money and shoes on behalf of the Access to Success Foundation (A2S), which supports a free school and basketball camp in Benin City, Nigeria. The weekend effort culminates Monday night, Feb. 6, at 7 o’clock when the Wildcat men’s basketball team plays Wofford at Belk Arena. Read the full story

Access to Success (A2S), the foundation created by former Davidson men’s basketbal
l player Andrew Lovedale to benefit underprivileged children through athletic, education and spiritual programs, is preparing for a pair of firsts:
- A trip to Lovedale’s hometown Benin City, Nigeria, from June 27-July 6.
- The inaugural “Kicks from ‘Cats: The Andrew Lovedale 5K” walk/run on the Davidson College cross country trail on Sept. 10, 2011.

Kicks for Cats returns at Charleston game Jan. 29
Former Davidson Wildcat basketball player Andrew Lovedale has formed a new Davidson-based nonprofit called Access to Success (A2S), which he says will continue and expand the charitable work he did while at the college.
The foundation co-hosts the annual Kicks From Cats fund-raiser at Saturday’s Davidson vs. Charleston game. Details below.

A total of 4,784 fans – most of them wearing red - came to Davidson College’s Belk Arena Saturday night to watch the men’s basketball team defeat Georgia Southern, 84-74. It was the 2nd annual “Kicks from Cats” night – a fund-raiser that aims to bring sports and education to Nigeria – the home country of player Frank Ben-Eze and former Wildcat Andrew Lovedale.
