GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Davidson volleyball team couldn’t overcome a Furman squad that hit .287 on the night as they Cats fell 3-0 to the Paladins in the opening match of Southern Conference play on Friday night at Alley Gymnasium. The Paladins took the match with set scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20.

Emotions will be high at Hopewell High School in Huntersville Friday night when the Titans face W.A. Hough High of Cornelius in an I-Meck 4A conference matchup that in just three years has become one of the region’s big rivalries.
Hough, at 4-1, is having its best season since opening three years ago, but the Huskies still haven’t figured out Hopewell.

Todd Mayes of Davidson won the 2012 Run for Green half marathon Saturday morning, while Holly John of Indian Trail captured the women’s division. The day also included 10K and 5K runs, and attracted a record turnout for the annual race. Meanwhile, coming up in Davidson on Sept. 29, it’s the Ada Jenkins Fire 5K. Details on that and other upcoming races below.
RUN FOR GREEN RESULTS
