DAVIDSON – Winning a high school state championship is always a big deal. Winning when your star player is taken out of the picture by injury makes it even more amazing. At Davidson Day School this weekend, it happened twice.
In a ceremony on its athletic field Monday afternoon, students and staff at the private school celebrated N.C. Independent School Athletic Association championships by both the girls’ soccer team and the boys’ track and field 4 x 200 meter relay.
