DAVIDSON – Snow made Wilson Field unplayable Saturday afternoon with Davidson leading George Washington, 6-5, in the top of the 7th inning. So players took to the field, trading baseballs for snowballs.
By rule, the game later was determined to be an official game, giving the Wildcats their second-straight victory.

After the Colonials scored runs in the first and fourth inning, an RBI-double by junior catcher Daniel Gerow and a two-run home run by freshman designated hitter Lee Miller (the first of his career) put the Wildcats ahead 3-2.
An RBI-double by Miller and a two-RBI double by junior right fielder Nathan Becker gave Davidson a 6-2 advantage following the sixth inning, but the Colonials scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning, and had one runner on base with two outs when the snow forced the stoppage of play.
SUN. UPDATE: Sunday’s final game in the series has been canceled because of snow still on the field.
