The evening will benefit the Davidson College baseball scholarship fund.
Longtime Major League Baseball Manager Tommy Lasorda, who won two World Series and a slew of National League titles, will speak at Davidson College on Wednesday, Nov. 30, to help raise money for Davidson baseball scholarships.
The event, organized by the Davidson Athletic Foundation, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Duke Family Performance Hall in the campus center.
Tickets for “An Evening with Tommy Lasorda” are $30. A limited number of seats are available for Davidson students at $20. Tickets may be purchased online at www.davidson.edu/tickets or in person at the campus union ticket window.
Lasorda has been with the Los Angeles Dodgers going on 62 seasons. He’s now a special adviser to the chairman, helping with scouting, evaluating and teaching minor league players, and serving as an ambassador for the team.
As a coach, Lasorda compiled a 1,599-1,439 record and won two World Championships, four National League pennants and eight division titles in an extraordinary 20-year career as the Dodgers’ manager.
