Davidson’s Design Review Board will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m., at Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St., Davidson. The agenda includes discussion of exterior renovations at Community School of Davidson High School; changes in the exterior at the planned Mooney’s Corner, which is being built at 212 S. Main St.; and renovations at 202 S. Main St., for the Pickled Peach Restaurant.
ADDED to agenda Sept. 11 - MSC Industrial Direct will show the board a revised brick selection for its corporate offices off I-77 Exit 30.

The Davidson Design Review Board meets Wednesday night with an agenda that includes another review for the proposed Mooney’s Corner, a 4-story commercial building on South Main Street next to Town Hall. The board also will consider design and signage for an Aquesta Bank ATM at Knox Realty, on Main Street and a proposal by developers of Davidson Bay Phase 2, off Beaty Street, to replace three garages with offices.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 216 S. Main St.

Did you know that in densely-built downtown areas, property owners need permission from their neighbors to put windows on a building’s sides?
That’s the situation facing developers of a proposed multistory building called Mooney’s Corner, at 212 S. Main St. next to Town Hall. In this case, the property owner next door is the Town of Davidson.
So on Tuesday, developers Artisan Builders asked the Town Board for an agreement that would allow them to design a retail and office building with windows facing the town’s property. Read the full story
