The 7th annual Greater Charlotte Home & Landscape Show runs this weekend, Jan. 28-30, at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord. The event will bring together home improvement experts and focus on trends for home and outdoor living spaces. NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) representatives will present seminars throughout the weekend and will be available for consultation.

POSTPONED – Karen Bentley tells DavidsonNews.net this meeting has been postponed to Jan. 24 at the same time and place because of snow.
For the past two years, Mecklenburg County has delayed a required property tax revaluation because of the weak economy. With the revaluation now set for 2011, county officials are offering a variety of ways to learn about it, including a public meeting on Jan. 10 in Cornelius. Read the full story

The 3rd annual Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Bake Sale is scheduled during Christmas in Davidson Thursday to Saturday, Dec. 2-4. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national non-profit organization, is dedicated to raising funds for pediatric cancer research. Thousands of dollars have been raised to help local children as well as children all over the country. All the treats are baked by local families and every dollar raised goes directly to research.
