Michael Jordan, the former NBA star and now Charlotte Bobcats owner, has bought a big house in the Peninsula neighborhood in Cornelius. A trust controlled by Jordan bought the 12,310-square-foot waterfront mansion at 18227 Capstan Greens Road out of foreclosure on Feb. 19, according to real estate records and news reports.
Jordan apparently got a good deal on the home. The Carolinas Multiple Listing Service reported the asking price had been $3.5 million.
The house was built in 1993 and sits on just over an acre. It has a three-car garage, six bedrooms, and eight bathrooms, according to a real estate sales report on the home.
It reportedly once was owned by a professional drag racer.
