The Cornelius Animal Shelter has pets available for adoption. For more information about these or other adoptable pets, please contact the Cornelius Police Department. The shelter is open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. It is also open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Read on for more about this week’s pets.
The shelter is happy to report that Sporty, featured here last week, was adopted. This week we would like to feature Angel and Trixie again along with a new litter of kittens.
Angel and Trixie are two, sweet, female, Dachshund/terrier/Chihuahua mixes who were recently surrendered to the shelter when their owner could no longer take care of them. They are affectionate and calm mannered and are best buddies. It would be great if we could find a home that would take them both together. They love each other, but don’t get along too well with other dogs. They are up to date on all their shots, have been spayed, and are completely house trained. If you are looking for two great companions that will keep each other entertained, please consider giving these two deserving dogs a home.
These three adorable kittens are part of a litter of five, which includes: two black tabbies, two orange tabbies and one Calico/torte. They all have beautiful markings and blue eyes. They are a little shy and still need a little socialization, but are warming up to the volunteers. We think they are about 6 weeks old. Their mother is also available for adoption. As soon as they receive their first set of shots, they will be available for adoption. Please stop by and meet these cuties.
