Cornelius police have arrested a 16-year-old W.A. Hough High School student in connection with a bomb threat that disrupted classes at his school Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Mecklenburg school board on Tuesday adopted a $293.9 million capital improvement plan, which includes converting Davidson Elementary to K-8 and building a new Alexander Middle School in Huntersville. The plan still needs approval from the Mecklenburg County Commission, which holds the final say on financing and priorities.

Updated 10:02pm - The Lake Norman Chamber says the N.C. Department of Transportation must consider all options, including a public-private partnership and toll lanes, as it plans for the widening of I-77 widening north of Charlotte. The chamber board met Monday to discuss the issue, and sent a letter to town officials in Cornelius, Huntersville and Davidson outlining their position.
