Donald Luther Hill, 70, of Concord, died Saturday March 17, 2012 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born Aug. 20, 1941, in Mecklenburg, Co to the late Samuel L. and Jonnie Holcomb Hill. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved traveling the roads in his RV or his ’37 Chevrolet Street Rod. Don was known as someone who could fix anything and worked on everything.

He worked for Shanklin A/C, APT Industries, and retired from Philip Morris. Donald was owner- operator of Smoothie Fabrication Running Boards and was an elder at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, Concord.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Harriett Hunter Hill and son Gregory Scott Hill. Donald leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Pamela O. Hill, daughter; Teresa Turner(Michael), grandchildren; Taylor, Michala, Scotti, Reagann, brother; Dean Hill (Kim), sisters; Nancy Harrison (Bill), Pat Snodgrass (Frankie), and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at University Hospital ICU.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30pm, Tuesday March 20, 2012 at Grace Covenant Church 17301 Statesville Rd., Cornelius, NC with Rev. Jay Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville.
