William Wade “Bill” Linker, of 310 Linker Lane, Stony Point, N.C., passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Davis Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 85.
Mr. Linker was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Iredell County to the late Edgar Neel Linker and Grace Evans Linker. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University and a retired farmer.
He was on the board of directors of the National Fox Hunters Association, a member of the Kentucky State Fox Hunters Association and Running Hounds Association. Mr. Linker was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Statesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Isabelle McCormick.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Wright of the home; three sons, Wade Linker, Scott Linker and Ben Linker all of Gastonia; one grandson, Rhyne Linker also of Gastonia.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson. The Rev. Grant Sharp will officiate.
