This week, break out the running shoes to kick off Lung Cancer Awareness Month Saturday at Jetton Village. Run or walk in a 15K or 5K, hosted by LungStrong, and bring the family to enjoy live music, prizes and games.
And in preparation for all those calories burned Saturday, on Friday visit Peoples Bank in Cornelius and buy a hot dog or two for lunch. The bank is competing to raise the most money in Our Towns Habitat for Humanity’s “Biggest Cheese” competition, and will be selling “hot dogs for Habitat” beginning at 11 a.m.
After running off your hot dogs, check out the “hot” dogs competing in the All American Dog Show at Bailey Road Park Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. Hosted by the Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture Department, the show includes fun categories in which furry friends can compete for prizes, or just go to watch and visit the different vendor booths on site.
