Art on the Green seeks artists; ArtWorks on Main closes

Lakeside Artists Studio Tour this weekend

art news bugThe second-annual Lakeside Artists Studio Tour will take place this Friday from 5-9pm and Saturday from 9am-6pm. Twenty Lake Norman area artists will be displaying their work at eight locations on the Brawley Peninsula. Six of the locations are artists’ home studios, while the remaining two are open homes displayed by Allen Tate Realtors.

Visitors will have the chance to see works produced by some of the region’s finest artists, including paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, and woodworking, and to meet the artists themselves. Read the full story

Many artists are eagerly awaiting the cooler temperatures and changing light of fall. Perhaps that’s why so many art workshops are available this time of year. Registration is now open for a variety of opportunities, including two next month at Wildacres Retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains: Carolina Captured and the Lake Norman Art League’s ArtNow workshop. Also below, advance notice of a local art opening for Davidson College professor and artist Herb Jackson. And news about a monthly “craft crawl” in the works in Mooresville.
