Uniting the elements of inspiration and improvisation, the Mark Sterbank Jazz Group explores familiar hymns and spirituals with swinging enthusiasm.
Led by saxophonist Mark Sterbank, the group includes Fred Wesley on trombone, Charlton Singleton on trumpet, Tommy Gill on piano, Herman Burney Jr. on bass, and Quentin Baxter on drums.

STRICTLY DIXIE IN CORNELIUS
The Cornelius Concert Series at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church will present Strictly Dixie in concert on Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center, 19600 Zion St., Cornelius.
Strictly Dixie played its first gig in 2003 at a Mardi Gras celebration and his since played regularly for churches and charities. With nine members, through sticks to Dixieland Jazz, most from the era of the Roaring Twenties.
