What’s the saying about March? In like a lion, out like a lamb-covered-in-inchworms? Is that how it goes? Take your mind off the little green worm infestation with something a little more appetizing – like ice cream, sushi, or a smorgasbord of options. From a Ben and Jerry’s fundraiser to the Sushi and Sake festival to Charlotte’s 17th Annual Taste of the Nation event, charity-minded diners have plenty of options coming up soon. We also have details on Alton’s Kitchen Easter brunch, lots of local music, and a party just for French speakers. Bon appetit!
ICE CREAM BENEFIT
This Friday, March 30, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Ben and Jerry’s of Davidson is giving 20 percent of proceeds and all tips to World Relief, to help fight human trafficking. Buy a cone, help end slavery: Supporting a good cause doesn’t get much easier than that. Head to https://www.facebook.com/abolishhumantrafficking for more info on the cause. Ben and Jerry’s, 202 S Main St, Davidson. Read more in our March 28 report, “3-day event shines light on sex-trafficking – even here.”
WINE CELLAR’S FRANCOPHONE FRIDAY
I don’t speak a whit of French, so I’ll just say this: If you understand the following paragraph, written by the good people at the Wine Cellar in Cornelius, you might be interested in heading down there this Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m, when French-speakers will be sharing French wine and conversation. It’s a monthly event, every final Friday – and English or French is OK! They’ll have French wines and other beverages.
