Fire crews on Sunday extinguished a 20- by  30-foot brush fire off Bailey Road. Also this week, crews found a water leak had triggered a carbon monoxide alarm, and helped to ventilate a home after the owner left a stove burner on. Meanwhile, a planned training burn off Field Street in Cornelius Saturday for the Cornelius and Davidson fire departments has been postponed because of an air quality alert. Read below for details.
