Billy Jones & The Pocket headlined a musical event on Feb. 8 to help the nonprofit Community Arts Project (CAP) raise much-needed capital for continued programming and operations at its new facility on North Main Street.
The inaugural music fest, as it was billed, was the brainchild of CAP Executive Director Cathy Templeton. With the help of front man Billy Jones, she decided a concert would be a great way to get the word out about the nonprofit and to rally support while enjoying a night of good music. It would also serve as a way to show off CAP’s new home in The Chair Factory across from Carolina Cones in downtown Cornelius. Fellow musicians Rusty Knox and Mike Strauss signed on to perform with a silent auction rounding out the evening. Read the full story
