Three former Navy SEALs came ashore at The Rusty Rudder in Cornelius at 7:15 pm Friday night, after a day-long swim across Lake Norman that began at Queens Landing in Mooresville before noon. They trio – Shannon Rusch, Rich Graham, and Troy Pusateri – finished on schedule, despite a grey skies and choppy conditions on the lake.
Rusch, Graham, and Pusateri made the 12.2-mile swim to raise awareness and funds for Operation Restored Warrior (ORW), a Colorado-based non-profit that works to rehabilitate veterans suffering from combat-related stress disorders.
