Not the largest or the smallest, but maybe the oldest! This 45-star flag dates to the turn of the last century – after Utah was added as a state in 1896, but before Oklahoma in 1907. At about 7 x 13 feet it did most of its flying in suburbs of Boston before it, too, tired of the snow and moved south, now celebrating holidays (weather permitting) on Wrightsville Beach or Lake Norman. … The flag has been in my Dad’s family the whole time. He was born and raised in Newton, MA, a Boston suburb, and his parents had been raised in Boston as well.
