The Cornelius Town Board meets Monday night, with an agenda that includes public hearings and likely votes on two development projects: auto dealer Lake Norman Hyundai’s rezoning to expand off I-77 Exit 28, and Elevation Church’s request to use the former Palace Theater at Kenton Place as a church.
The board also will consider a propsal to name a field at Westmoreland Athletic Complex in honor of former mayor and now state Sen. Jeff Tarte.
The agenda also includes a resolution signaling the board’s support for keeping the state’s Parks & Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant program, which has brought the town about $1.6 million in funding since 1998 for six park projects.
The meeting begins at 7pm at Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave. The board also plans a 6pm pre-meeting at Town Hall to continue discussions on the 2013-14 budget. (This week’s 8am agenda preview meeting at the Acropolis has been canceled.)
