The 30th Annual North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade kicks off at 1 o’clock this Saturday, Dec. 1, running along N.C. 115/Main Street from downtown Davidson to downtown Cornelius. That means the road will be closed in the two towns through mid-afternoon.
This year’s parade again is hosted by the Davidson and Cornelius-Lemley fire departments, and will be held no matter the weather.
N.C. 115 will be closed in Davidson from noon until about 3pm. The march begins on Main Street at Griffith Street, continues south into Cornelius, ending at Hickory Street, south of downtown. As marchers stage for the parade, Main Street will be closed from Beaty Street south, Griffith Street will be closed from Beaty/Sloan streets to Main Street, and other local streets near the start will also be closed.

Detours for the Christmas parade through Davidson and Cornelius are outlined on a map on the Town of Davidson website. Click to download (PDF).
The parade includes marching bands, floats, businesses, antique cars, dance groups and more.
