The Cornelius Planning Board meets Monday, Oct. 8, with an agenda that includes discussion of a rezoning request to allow a 108-unit apartment complex at Kenton Place. The board also will consider a planning ordinance amendment to clarify the location of expansions for auto dealerships.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Cornelius town hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., Cornelius.
The board also will swear in Betty Trautwein as a new member. Former member Gary Knight stepped down recently because he has moved out of town. He was honored in September by the Town Board.

BACKGROUND ON KENTON PLACE APARTMENTS
Kenton LLC of Huntersville is seeking approval to amend its site plan to allow a 108 unit multi-family residential complex on Lot 2, off West Catawba Ave., near the Palace.
The new three-story building would sit on an empty lot on the north side of Kenton Drive, opposite the site of another potential future three-story building. Plan call for a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. The developer proposes to reserve 1.5 acres of open space in the plan.
The developers held a community meeting on their plans in September.
