The boat ramp and decks at Ramsey Creek Park will be replaced this year, and the surrounding landscaping also will be replaced. The county allocated $12,000 from the Ramsey Creek Boat Launch Fee capital reserve for the project in the budget approved Tuesday.

The wood on the decking at Ramsey Creek is old and splintered.
In the FY2013 budget, Mecklenburg County allots $727,000 for Parks and Recreation, including developing new parks, expanding programs, and replacing maintenance equipment. According to the document, the decking of the boat ramp “has exceeded its useful life” and needs to be replaced, and “the funds requested will promote safety of users and enhance the aesthetics of the Park.”
