Cornelius police have arrested a second Charlotte man on murder charges in connection with the Wednesday night shooting death of a 20-year-old man at a home on North Main Street, near the Food Lion.
Jay Brett Wallace of Charlotte, 20, was charged late Thursday with murder, five counts of kidnapping and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was arrested with the help of the State Bureau of Investigation, Cornelius police said Friday morning.
Earlier Thursday, police also arrested Bernard Donnie Fuller, 22, of Charlotte, on identical charges in the case.
Both men were being held without bail Friday at Mecklenburg County Jail.
They’re charged in the death of Wilfred Arnold, 20, who was found shot to death Wednesday night, just before midnight.
Police were called to the house at 20205 N. Main St., next to the grocery store driveway, at 11:53 p.m., after a report of a shooting. They found Mr. Arnold with a gunshot wound.
A neighbor on North Main Street told CorneliusNews.net Thursday he heard five pops around midnight, and that police and medic arrived quickly.
Police said they are still investigating the case, and are seeking tips, which can be anonymous. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detectives at 704-892-7773.
