Cornelius Police are looking for a suspect after two attempted kidnappings Monday on Dunmore Drive, near Kenton Place. Two girls, both juveniles, told police that a man tried to lure them into his van and offered them candy.
The two girls are not related, and were not together at the times of the kidnappings, according to police.
The suspect is described as a white male, with gelled, spiked hair and earrings in one ear. He was wearing a black and red shirt with white stripes, according to police, and was traveling with a passenger. The passenger is described as a Hispanic-looking man with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a brown shirt and brown shorts.
According to police, the suspect was driving a “very dirty” black van with dirty tires, and had a cracked rear window covered in black tape. The girls also reported seeing a child seat installed in the back of the van.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 704-892-7773. You can remain anonymous.
