Just in time for the holiday card-mailing rush, Ace Hardware on Wednesday opened its post office counter. The additional post office location, at at 20510 N. Main St. in Cornelius, should help relieve some of the stress at the Cornelius Post Office, at 20311 Chartwell Center Drive, particularly during the holidays, Manager Dori Rice said.

The store now sells stamps and shipping supplies, and sends regular, priority and registered mail as well as packages. It does not house any P.O. boxes.

Ace has been working on the partnership with the post office for months, and staff are pleased to offer customers a convenient, “one-stop shop,” Ms. Rice said.
