Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board were on the scene yesterday of a West Virginia air show crash that killed a Cornelius man Saturday. John “Jack” Mangan III, 54, died when the plane he was piloting crashed.
Witnesses say Mr. Mangan was in the middle of a maneuver when the T-28 Warbird went down. Mangan was part of a Cincinnati-based group that was performing a tribute to the military as part of the show.
Mr. Mangan He was a former Air Force pilot who was part of a group that owned restaurants in several states. Mangan is survived by his wife and three children.
