What are your July 4 plans? Grab your blankets and folding chairs and come join CorneliusNews.net and other members of our community on the lawn of Town Hall for music, games, food and a movie.

We are the presenting sponsor for the Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture department’s Fourth of July celebration featuring the band Acoustic Soulutions, playing classic R&B songs and top 40 hits.

Activities for the kids

PARC will offer activities for children, including train rides and a bounce house. Coca-Cola’s Discovery Vehicle also will be there, offering Wii games and product samples.

On the big screen

Around 8:30 p.m., PARC will prepare its blimp screen for an outdoor showing of the PG-rated movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Food

Bruster’s Ice Cream will be selling Nathan’s hot dogs, ice cream and soft beverages all evening.
